Mental Health Services
Psychiatric Evaluation & Medication Management
At Awaken Mental Health, we care for children, teens and adults. We provide comprehensive evaluations to accurately diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions with treatment plans designed to be personal and supportive. Our medical director is certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Child and Adolescent psychiatry as well as General
Psychiatry, which means that families can feel confident their children and teens are receiving expert and developmentally-appropriate care. All the same, we bring the same thoughtful, empathetic approach to adult patients ensuring that everyone has access to treatment that supports longterm well-being. We do not treat older adults needing geriatric specialty care.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
The advancement of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in mental health settings is something our team was involved in from the early stages. We saw how effective this particular modality is for treating certain mental health conditions, helping to aid psychotherapy and find meaningful improvement when other approaches had not worked. This highly-effective treatment model is designed to foster deep therapeutic insights and healing. We carefully screen patients and we offer a range of patient-centered dosing strategies, which are based on individual needs. Guidance is provided throughout the ketamine experience by our skilled mental health team.
Group KAP
Our committed team of seasoned clinicians and therapists are experienced in guiding small groups which provide a medically supervised setting with the connective environment of group therapy. In this setting, patients receive ketamine in safe surroundings while also feeling comfort and strength in connecting with other participants. We screen carefully to create a secure and supportive group dynamic and facilitate group processing and integration. We ensure each of our patient’s needs are respected throughout this process, and a group setting often allows patients to find comfort knowing they are not alone in their healing journey.
Intranasal Esketamine treatment (Spravato)
Esketamine treatment is practiced according to a specific set of regulated practices that has been determined by the FDA. Esketamine is also called Spravato and is approved by the FDA for the treatment of depression that persists despite at least two adequate trials of antidepressant medication. This form of treatment is covered by most health insurance plans but requires prior authorization. Treatments are provided twice weekly for 4 weeks then once weekly for 4 weeks then on a reduced schedule afterwards. While many aspects of Spravato treatment are regulated, therapeutic integration is not. We are committed to making the most of this form of treatment by integrating it into a therapeutic framework to bring about lasting improvement.
Collaboration
We collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals who are integrating ketamine into their own practices or are seeking this treatment option for their clients. Our clinicians are high experienced in ketamine-assisted therapy and deliver personalized, evidence-based care to meet, and enhance your client’s mental health goals.
